This Louis xv style commode was produced around 1860 from solid oak with intricate rosewood parquetry, it has a thick rouge marble top and gilt bronze handles and ormolu. The chest has been fully polished and ormolu has been cleaned – some of the gilding has worn leaving a lovely patina and bronze showing through.
The bronze work is of excellent quality that has heads, dragons, and terminates on a foot. It also has the sun king himself in the center at the bottom.
