Description
A substantial sized English chest of drawers circa 1870 in Satin Birch produced by Maple & Co. The top middle drawer is fully stamped Maple & Co. and all locks are stamped VR for Queen Victoria. This chest is of rounded corner design, and gives a vast amount of storage space. Having eight drawers in total. The three lower drawers graduate in size, and are all deep, often Known as a Bonnet chest the central of the five drawers to the top feature a āBonnetā or āHatā drawer, flanked by four further small drawers. All drawers are constructed from solid mahogany.
The Chest is of great quality with lovely hand cut dovetail joints. Restored where necessary with drawers sitting and running correctly. Fully polished by hand retaining original patina and exceptional colour.
