Marcel Genay was born in France in 1928. He lived in Biarritz until his death in 1993. He travelled frequently and his work is exhibited in galleries around the world. He visited Sweden many times, where he regularly had exhibitions, which brought richness and romantic nostalgia to his compositions. Marcel Genay illustrated a collection of the famous poet Louis Guillaume, many TV documentaries, national and regional newspaper articles, an article in the science fiction Horizon du Fantastique. Marcel Genay’s poems have inspired many artists. One of his poems was selected for inclusion in the Anthology of Contemporary Poets. Today his works are in many private and gallery collections.
The work was done on Arches Johannot paper. It is a premium product made of 75% cotton and 25% Mediterranean esparto (alpha) grass. Thanks to traditional production methods, using a cylindrical paper machine, the sheets have a natural, harmonious texture, similar to hand-made paper. Thanks to this technique, the fibers are evenly distributed, and the paper is more stable and resistant to deformation. Dimensional stability allows them to stretch evenly after soaking. Each sheet includes a watermark to guarantee the authenticity of the product.
Original vintage condition, minor marks.
