This elegant three-seater leather sofa was designed by Lennart Bender and produced by the Swedish Ulferts Tibro during the 1960s. The frame is made of solid oak wood. The sofa is finished with natural leather in a slightly shiny black color. The soft, loose seat and backrest cushions make comfort during use. Lennart Bender is a Swedish designer who is well known for his design of the Krokus armchairs, produced between 1959 and 1961 by Ulferts. He also designed many teak pieces for Ary Stalmobler in the mid-1960s. All designs follow the organic and simple lines of more traditional mid-century Scandinavian design, reflecting the spirit of the Mid-Century Modern era along with the designer’s need to explore new forms and materials.
Uferts is a Swedish manufacturer known for designing furniture in the Mid-Century Modern style. Modernity in terms of MCM is a retreat from the decadence of previous eras and the related snobbish creativity – here are simple lines and simple shapes. Their have their own unique charm, and their grace is enhanced by the ingenious use of colors and materials.
This sofa is in original vintage condition, it has traces of age, scratches on the leather, matting, imprints. Invisible tear in the lining under the back cushion. The seat is at a height of 39 cm.
