Rattan lounge chair in the manner of Gabriella Crespi

Description

A fabulous, iconic, pod shaped, cane chair in the manner of Gabrielle Crespi. Constructed from a light coloured, pencil reed rattan, this is a particularly striking piece  with a distinctive and curvaceous, sculptural form. These pod chairs are often attributed to the 60s and 70s and we believe the design of this piece has been heavily influenced by Italian design of that era. More usually found in a darker brown, this lighter version has a fresher, and arguably, more bohemian feel to it. This would look stunning both indoors, in a light filled kitchen diner, or outside on a patio or balcony, surrounded by foliage. All the rattan is in place, nothing missing or cracked but does show wear here and there.

In great vintage condition with just the odd scrape or graze as one should expect from a pre-loved piece. We no longer have the original seat pad/cushion but have replaced it with a simple off white boucle cushion.
