A set of six bent beech wood chairs model 124, designed by Helena and Jerzy Kurmanowicz, produced in Radomszczańskie Zakłady Przemysłu Drzewnego, Poland, 1950s. In 1958 this design won first prize in a competition organized by PAGED. The common name “heart” comes from the backrest made of bent plywood. An important aspect of this model is the consistency of the manufacturing technology. Each wooden element of the chair has been bent, the wooden ring on which the seat is placed is made from a single piece, ensuring structural integrity. The legs also underwent this bending process, providing a harmonious aesthetic to the overall design. The seats and backrests are upholstered with soft boucle fabric in colors: orange, brown and grey. Although the chairs come from the same set, due to the manufacturing technique, they may slightly differ in the width of the leg spacing or the curvature of the bending.
