Description
The largest version of this beautiful hanging pendant light from the ‘Futura’ range which is also more commonly called ‘Wave’ which was manufactured in Germany by Peill & Putzler during the 1970s. The three-wave smoked ribbed glass shade is suspended from a gold-chrome bulb-holder fitting and black flex with a matching round black plastic ceiling cup.
A very unusual design with three ‘waves’ of smoked ribbed glass on the inside contrasting against smoked smooth glass on the exterior. This space age futuristic light is a design classic having won a number of awards including the IF design award in 1975.
The light is in very good condition with one barely noticeable scratch to the exterior smoked glass. The golden-chrome exterior circular lightbulb holder shows home age-related wear which isn’t noticeable when the light is hung and in place. The light requires a single E27 Edison screw in lightbulb. The maker’s label is still present on the inside of the chrome plate.
