Early French Brass Banker’s Desk Lamp by Niam
£285
Description
An early example of a banker’s desk lamp, this has the maker’s name ‘Niam’ underneath the heavy base and dates to circa 1910. It has the original two pin plug and braided wiring, with a bayonet fitting for the bulb and the switch set into the upper side of the base. The brass shade swivels around to change the position of the light aperture, and the stem of the lamp also pivots on the decorated base to change the position of the lamp head. With the patchy green patina of age in places, this is a great decorative piece.
Dating to circa 1910, this is made of brass and originates from France.
Please note that this lamp is not sold in working order and has not been PAT tested. It will require rewiring by a qualified individual for use other than as decoration. It is otherwise in good age related condition, with some green colouration to the brass in places.
