Description
A nice Victorian rocking horse which will delight any small child and continues to function for its original purpose, this is a dappled white with a leather saddle, bridle and reins, horsehair tail and mane, glass eyes and iron stirrups. The sturdy base has turned uprights and the rocking motion is supported on sturdy iron struts. This will make a great addition to a nursery or play room.
Dating to circa 1860 to 1870, this is made of wood, iron and leather, and originates from England.
In sturdy working condition, this has had some obvious work around the neck and head, where there are gaps and cuts in the wood which have been restored. The leather on the saddle is worn, but it is still serviceable for a child to use and the iron supporting the rocking motion is strong.
