This big peacock is stunning – weather you wear it as a brooch, as a pendant or as a hair pin/comb. The body of the peacock is made out of 18K yellow gold and it contains three blue sapphires and one ruby in pear shape. The crown has four round rubies, old cut, set in silver and the backside is 18K yellow gold. The feathers as well as the branch are also made out of silver (frontside) and 18K yellow gold (backside). The branch contains rose cut diamonds of a good color. The feathers contain rose cut diamonds as well as facetted emeralds and blue sapphires. Furthermore the end of the feathers are adorned with emerald and blue sapphire cabochons.

The whole peacock is hallmarked in three different places. On the backside of the pendant loop, on the backside of the piece of gold that holds the feathers together and on the backside of the feathers. The backside of the feathers contain four hallmarks: 750, ZI, 925 and 15NL976. According to the book of dutch gold- and silversmiths this specific 750 and ZI hallmark dates back from 1814 till 1904 (a draft from the book is included with the photographs). The backside of the loop and the small piece of gold, that holds the feathers together, are hallmarked 750 and ZI. Total amount of gemstones:- Emeralds: 46x small emeralds, 1x bigger emerald under the branch, 10x emerald cabochonsapproximately 3. 8 ct. together; Oil Treatment Grade: Insignificant- Rubies: 44x round shaped, 1x pear shaped, approximately. 1. 8 ct. together- Diamonds: 73x rose cut, approximately. 1. 2 ct. together- Blue Sapphires: 8x Cabochons, 3x pear shaped, approximately. 1. 3 ct. together

This is truly a one of a kind piece of jewelry, that will give you great pleasure. Please note that the loop with the rubies as well as the body of the peacock and the branch are movable. This is helpful, when you use it as a hair pin/comb. We have tried this peacock in a hair knot and have come to the conclusion that it stays in its place. If you want to use it in loose hair (as seen in the photographs), you might have to adjust it a bit at some point. For the pictures with loose hair we have only used the peacock to hold the hair together and it worked!
