Description
A striking example of mid century E Gomme, G plan dining furniture. Dated 1959 the elegant combination of black, gold and dark wood encapsulates the signature style typical of 1950s MCM design.
The dark wood top is supported by 8 slender black legs capped with gold adjustable feet bringing the design a sense of weightless strength – it is a table that seems to tiptoe; like a spider waiting to pounce!
The table is structurally sound with a few bumps, scratches and scrapes as can be expected from a pre-loved piece of design history. We have stripped, oiled and polished the table top to make it ready for its new home. The black ebonised legs have a few scrapes. We have opted to leave these as they are rather than re-painting them.
