A Gordon Russell drop leaf dining table in African Mahogany (Kyha) with a British military history!

Description

This is a lovely genuine Gordon Russell of Broadway drop leaf gate leg dining table. The table has a very rare African Mahogany or Kyha veneer, this is such a super interesting timber which was only used on very special items of furniture. This table carries the military markings. This was obviously part of the contract work Gordon Russell manufactured for the Air Ministry in the early 60s and this is dated February 1965. The veneer is stunning and is a great “tiger stripe”. There are signs of wear and tear with a couple of small “dents”. The versatility that this design of table offers means it is great for a small room and a couple of diners but when you want/need more capacity flip up the leafs and you have a comfortable 6 seater
