19th Century Mahogany Tilt Top Table
Delivering from: Newark, United Kingdom (UK)
£285
Description
A useful and attractive tilt top table, this stands on a tripod base with a substantial turned pedestal and has a brass āswitchā mechanism to release the catch and allow the top to fold down. It has a lovely patina, with the marks of long use polished into the top, and will make a lovely side table which is easily stored at the margins of a room when not in use. It remains a functional and elegant piece nearly 200 years after it was first made and has the character of its age.
Dating to circa 1840, this is made of mahogany and originates from England.
In good age related condition, this has the wear commensurate with long use. There is some ānibbledā wear to the edge at one corner of the top. The tilting mechanism works well.
