Description
A stunning mid century, blonde oak, John & Sylvia Reid, Concord range Dressing Table with removable mirror; manufactured by Stag furniture. This is a rarer piece from the Stag range and features one large central drawer, flanked by two drawers on each side. It stands on elegant, tall, tapered legs and is topped with 3 mirrors. The large central mirror can be angled and the two smaller ones are hinged to the main in such a way that they can be folded in to provide ‘surround viewing’! The mirrors are easy to remove if you wish to use this as a desk; something that the knee hole design would certainly lend itself to.
The proportions and detailing are very well observed and the piece is very elegant.
Very good overall condition, structurally all in good order with just the possibility of some age related surface wear, commensurate with age and use.
We have stripped and refinished the top with several layers of Danish oil to bring out the natural grain and protect the surface for future use. There are one or two small nibbles to the veneer on the back edge of one side. Not really noticeable owing to there location. Some slight foxing dots on the mirror. Please check all images for a detailed view of the condition.
