Description
J. Cartwright & Son antique metal safe with all original paintwork and fittings. To the outside of the door it features brass metal hardware and a plaque which reads: āJ.CARTWRIGHT & SON MAKERS ESTD. 1844 TRADEMARK WEST BROMWICH ENGLANDā. Underneath which the shield escutcheon reads: āIMPROVED INVIOLABLE LOCKā. This has a small sliding panel to access the keyhole.
Inside it is vibrantly painted a wonderful blue and proudly presents the information that it is a āBent steel fire & thief resisting safeā. Depicted onto a round red and gold belt with the word āimprovedā to the center on a green background. The smaller secure drawer inside the main section also features a swan neck handle and keyhole
.A unique addition as a bedside furniture item and practical for any other space in the home or business.
In very good and fully working condition with the charming overall patina. This item is very heavy so caution whilst handling is advised.
Item comes with two sets of necessary keys.
