A lovely quality butler’s tray with associated stand, this is a splendid piece which has large patinated brass hinges connecting the drop-sides. The X frame folding stand has turned stretchers with canvas straps and is sturdy enough to hold the weight of the heavy tray. This is a versatile item which can be used with the sides up or down, as a table or as a tray, and stored with the stand folded and the top flat when required. A great item for any home and a quality example of its type.
Dating to circa 1820, this is made of mahogany and originates from England.
In good age related condition, this is a sturdy and functional piece with only the minor marks of wear expected for an item which has been in use for 200 years.
