This a small table top chest of drawers which dates to the early 20th century.
This small chest is a useful and decorative piece which has been hand made from mixed woods and old Jamaican cigar boxes, it is quite primitive and naively made, a scratch built piece.
It is an unusual piece for a desk top, perfect for stowing away small items and collectibles, perhaps for use in a workshop for screws, nails and bits and bobs.
The chest has twelve small drawers which are finished with turned wooden handles, these are set into a red painted carcass.
Each drawer base is stamped.
The chest measures
30.5cms high x 34.25cms wide x 22.5cms deep
drawers measure 11.5cms wide x 20cms deep, top drawers are 3cms high, bottom drawers are 4cms high
It is quite rustic and there are many marks of age and use, there is a small area of veneer missing on one side, please see all of the photos to get an idea of its general condition.
