Description
This is a really beautiful vintage mirror in great condition which will really add a touch of class to any interior. Made of large panels of brass embossed with scrolling foliate design over a punched dimpled background and a rope twist design around the glass mirror itself. The brass panels are bent over the sides and fastened at the back of the mirror. All pinned in place with small brass pins. The back, or verso, is made of wood painted gold with four brass hanging holes which enable the mirror to be hung vertically or horizontally. A central panel at the verso is painted black and still bears its original label ‘hand crafted in India for C.G.B.’ Beautifully made piece, dating from the 1950s/60s is my guess. A lovely large, quality, mirror which will look wonderful in any interior, period or modern. Is actually much nicer and brighter in the flesh than in these photographs. Good quality brass which I have lightly cleaned but not gone overboard as you want to retain that patina of age and not overclean. Condition: Condition is absolutely wonderful with no problems. Care: Just a gentle rub with a very soft fluffy cloth once in a blue moon – absolutely no need to scrub or overclean. Antique brass is more attractive and more valuable with some retention of patina to add to its vintage aesthetic. Postage: I always pack everything extremely well to ensure safety in transit. Postage to the UK is free and includes proof of posting and a tracking number. I always send a photograph of the postage label to the customer on despatch.
