Large 19th Century French Gilt Mirror

Description
A magnificent 19th century mirror with a gilt wood and carved stucco frame, this will make a great piece for a large room. The carved decoration is in the form of flowers, with a rope design border around the outside of the frame and an inner edging reminiscent of studding. It has the characterful de-silvered patches often seen in early mirrors which give it an attractive appearance, but do not affect the reflection in any obtrusive way. This is a very heavy piece which will not easily hang without structural support, but will work well as a floor standing or over mantle mirror.
Dating to the 19th century, this is made of wood, stucco and mirrored glass, and originates from the France.
In good age related condition, this has the characterful de-silvering expected for its age. The decoration has some minor unobtrusive cracking, but has no missing sections or noticeable chips.
