Description
Extraordinary and rare emptying bowl or centerpiece made by master Flavio Poli for the Murano artistic glassworks Seguso in the early 1960s.
What makes this object special, in addition to the caliber of its performers, is the Battuto technique, which was performed on a 5-cm-thick ground glass, creating a finely executed edge of one of the most complex techniques in glassmaking, namely beating hot glass with a hammer to leave an imprint of texture.
Made of dark blue glass of considerable thickness, which allows it stupendous plays of light, it is in perfect condition, with no marks or chipping, a few tiny signs of use underneath given its more than 60 years.
