Description
This hand painted iron dial comes from a 18th century longcase/grandfather clock. It dates from around 1770 to 1800. Dating source: Painted Clocks 1770-1870 by Brian Loomes. Published 1994.
As you can see there is some minor overall deterioration to the finish, some pitting and some wear. A lot of the black paint has faded, but the fruit is still vibrant. Overall the decorative paintwork is in jolly good order.Ā The hands are in good condition.
28.x 28 x 5cm
Fitted with a high quality battery quartz mechanism that is fully guaranteed for twelve months. Requires one AA battery which is supplied with the clock.
