A fantastic version of these bakelite East German commercial clocks, made in Leipzig by RFT (Rundfunk- und Fernmelde-Technik). This model is dated February 1969. Originally, these clocks were completely sealed so they would be safe in potentially explosive conditions, hence the Ex mark on the dial.
The bakelite case is in really good order with negligible wear and has been hand-polished to a gorgeous finish. The off-white colour dial is nice and clean throughout, the logo and markings are all crisp. The hands show overall pitting. The original glass shows negligible wear.
Overall diameter 44 cm, depth 10 cm.
Fitted with a high quality battery quartz mechanism that is fully guaranteed for twelve months. Requires one AA battery which is supplied with the clock.
