Vintage American Wall Clock Steel Dial
£50
Description
Dating from the earlier 20th century, this steel dial is an original and will have originally come from an American waiting room-style dial clock. At this time, clocks made in America were shipped to the UK unassembled as it avoided some import duty. As these were amongst the first mass-produced clocks, the manufacturer were very keen to cut costs and this is typical as it has a printed paper dial on a zinc back.
As you can see there is some overall deterioration to the finish, some pitting and some wear. Overall, the printing is in quite good order. The hands are in good condition.
Overall diameter 30.5 cm, Depth 4 cm.
Fitted with a high quality battery quartz mechanism that is fully guaranteed for twelve months. Requires one AA battery which is supplied with the clock.
