A classic Art Deco style vintage clock from Smiths.
Made in Great Britain.
This clock was made in 1940s/1950s in beautiful Art Deco style, solidly built.
Black dial with black bezel and gold cast stand, pressed chapter ring.
Solid Bakelite body.
The clock has been completely stripped and cleaned.
To make the clock more useable the old clockwork movement has been replaced with a new, very quiet, German made quartz battery movement. The movement will run for well over 12 months on a single AA battery.
The original hands have been modified to suit the new movement, it is a little time consuming, but worth the effort, there is nothing worse than a clock with hands that do not match the design of the clock.

The clocks I sell are all vintage and some will have some age related wear. I will bring attention to any flaws in this description.
Clocks are fully tested and are kept running up to dispatch to ensure correct time keeping.

Stylish mid century clocks repurposed for today’s world.
I am a clockmaker/restorer, I have been in the business for 40 years.

My eye for detail results in a great looking original clock, flexible in location and ready to fit in in with contemporary and MCM decors.
Packaging: The packaging I use is either recyclable, reusable or compostable, the bubble wrap can be reused, I don’t buy bubblewrap but reuse what is sent to me, you can do the same, the cardboard box will recycle.
I don’t over restore, clocks are cleaned, I have developed techniques for making the metal work look as new as possible, all by hand, this is not done by machine polishing which, being harsh, will round off the clean sharp edges, the clocks just don’t look right when they are overworked, they were never like that when new!, the end result with my clocks, in my opinion, is a great looking clock in lovely original condition.
