Antique Iron Dial 18th Century Longcase/Grandfather Clock
£175
Description
This large hand painted iron dial comes from a 18th century longcase/grandfather clock with really charming naive paintings. It dates from around 1795 to 1815. Dating source: Painted Clocks 1770-1870 by Brian Loomes. Published 1994.
As you can see there is some minor overall deterioration to the finish, some pitting and some wear. A lot of the black paint has faded, but the motifs are all still vibrant. Overall the decorative paintwork is in good order. The hands are in good condition.
46.5 x 33 x 4cm
Fitted with a high quality battery quartz mechanism that is fully guaranteed for twelve months. Requires one AA battery which is supplied with the clock.
